There is no limited for the content or number of characters for calligraphy, and that largely depends on artists’ will. Writing must follow the track left by the folding lines, up to down, finally forming the pattern of dissipating from the centre to two sides. Calligrapher may write two lines in a wide track, or just one line if it is narrow, start from right line to left and sign at the end of left line to show the condescension. Keeper’s name of the fan is always written on another line as respecting, but with no name or surname and just with byname.
